The EarthSeeds Story
EarthSeeds was founded by activist, author and educator Mark Joyous in 1984. Looking for a better ways to reach and teach people about the Earth System, over the years EarthSeeds has developed from a grassroots initiative to an international movement including major public initiatives, school and community outreach, and Ambassadors around the world. The Network has developed teaching resources like our award winning photorealistic earth-globe, activity guides and an extensive curriculum kit, as well as countless other recourses for schools, homes and public places. Our Earth in Every Classroom project alone has reached 15,000 classrooms and with the launch of Sus Bus I in 2009, the public outreach initiative “Spreading EarthSeeds” has reached over 10,000 people. Our goal, from the beginning, has been to help people develop their sense of place, from a global perspective, and bring the global view and sustainability to the forefront in public policy as well as in the hearts and mind of all Crewmembers of Spaceship Earth.
