Welcome To The Earth Seeds Network

Who Are We?

EarthSeeds is a global network of 4,000 citizen-activists, from all walks of life, working for sustainability and promoting the global, or Astronaut’s view of the earth through the five key initiatives. Started in 1990 by author and environmental champion Mark Joyous, EarthSeeds has grown from a local grassroots organization to a worldwide movement centered on teaching people about sustainability and sharing the Earth Image’s powerful message for humanity.

What is an EarthSeed?

All EarthSeeds start as a simple idea, a way to improve your community and our relationship with the Earth. This seed can grow to become an action or a group of interested people taking up the flags of change. These flags, or leaves, help the seedling grow, strengthening its roots in the community.  When mature your EarthSeed can flower, offer sustenance to the world, and then spread its own seeds of change.

Some EarthSeeds seem small, like promoting efficiency and home solar, building a school garden, or bringing recycling or farmer’s markets to your area, but together with the millions of other seeds of their kind, they will provide the energy, the inertia, for change in our communities for decades to come. Some EarthSeeds are bigger; planning Earth Day celebrations, bringing solar or wind to public buildings, or a community composting system.  Let us help you till the soil, find water, and clear away the weeds.  We all know acting locally is the seed of global change. We are here to make sure all of these seeds have a chance to grow.

A donation to the EarthSeeds Network helps support community outreach, our school programs, and most importantly, grassroots change in your community! As a public outreach effort of the Global View Foundation, a Colorado-based nonprofit, we rely on donations, grants, and payroll deductions to help support all of our initiatives.

Want to change the world? Then change your global view and join a team of thousands, world wide, who are working to spread the Astronauts' Image of Earth. As we change our perspective we change our lifestyles….as we change our lifestyles we change how we live on the Earth.

Everyone should see our home planet the way Astronauts do. The Earth, as seen from space, is our "Global Family Portrait" - what we call the "Astronaut's View". The men and women who have sailed among the stars have seen our fragile, tiny, craft and know how we need to shift our consciousness to taking better care of Earth; our home. To this noble end, we have a growing family of "Earthseeds Ambassadors" whose mission it is to inform, inspire, integrate and involve the rest of the crew of spaceship earth in this revolution. We are awakening now to truly seeing ourselves in the universal mirror. The time has come to see we are "All One Family".  Join us in our collaboration, celebration, and collective effort to bring sustainability and the Astronaut’s View of our home to the world.
